Alastair Cowen has been a trustee since 2015, and is Vice-Chair at James Brindley, a special academy working across ten sites in Birmingham, within a number of teaching centres, hospitals, and specialist units. He chairs the finance committee, and also sits on the staffing and pay committee.
He is a chartered accountant, and began his career working on the internal and external audits of organisations in the education sector, local authorities, and the NHS. He now works in consultancy, focusing on data and analytics.
Alastair is passionate about governance, and in 2019 he joined the trustee board of the National Governance Association.
