Arnold Yousaf, is Project Development Lead for the SOS+ Project, in St Giles Trust. The SOS+ Project delivers early intervention work in educational settings across the country, through preventative and awareness sessions on violence, vulnerability and exploitation to young people, parents and professionals. SOS+’s award-winning approach uses trained professionals with lived-experience of the criminal justice system to de-glamorise gang involvement and expose the harsh realities of crime and violence. Arnold utilises his lived experience within the criminal justice system and gangs, combined with his experience as a frontline practitioner in prevention and early intervention to provide professionals with a credible and authentic perspective of various issues relating to exploitation and criminal activity. Arnold has developed the content for and delivered St. Giles’ Gangs and County Lines training to a wide range of professionals such as; NHS School nurses, CSE workers, Safeguarding Children Boards, Regional Organised Crime Units, Police Units, CPS Lead Prosecutors, Magistrates and Crown Court Judges, Drug expert witnesses and various other multi-agency partners.
