Lola is Deputy Director for Health and Wellbeing at Public Health England West Midlands. She leads an integrated Health and Wellbeing team which supports local authority public health teams in delivery of mandated and wider public health services including drug and alcohol services. The team also provides advice to NHS commissioners to support commissioning of healthcare and public health services for people in the justice system. Her team has supported the West Midlands Violence Prevention Alliance to advocate for public health approaches to violence prevention. This work has made a key contribution to the development of the West Midlands Violence Reduction Unit launched in October 2019. With a focus on local places, her work encompasses public health issues across the life course with the aim of improving the public’s health and wellbeing and tackle health inequalities. She is also interested in the wider social determinants of health e.g. housing, planning. Lola has experience of commissioning a range of NHS services including primary, community and mental health services having previously worked as a PCT Director of Planning and Partnerships.
