How do I get to the venue?+
The NEC Birmingham is easy to reach by both public transport or by car, and has ample parking facilities on-site. We highly recommend that you visit the travel section of the NEC website for more information: http://www.thenec.co.uk/visitors/getting-here/

What is the closest train station to the NEC?+
The NEC is situated adjacent to Birmingham International Rail Station and you can reach the Show without stepping outside!
Depending on your origin station you can travel directly by train to The NEC by alighting at Birmingham International. If your point of origin does not provide a service directly to Birmingham International, in most cases you will need to travel to Birmingham New Street first and get a connecting train from there.
Does it cost for me to register as a visitor to the show?+
This is a free to attend show for those working in education and the wider public sector.
Will I be able to print off my visitor badge at the venue?+
We have PC screen terminals for you to print off your badge at the registration counter. You will need to enter in your details and our system will be able to recognise these details if you pre-registered with us.
Are all the sessions in the theatres free to attend?+
Yes, all of the sessions across the theatres are free to attend, though limited places are available. We do advise that you arrive at least 10 minutes before the session is due to begin, to help ensure that you get a seat in the theatre.
How do I obtain a badge if I work in the private sector?+
The Schools & Academies Show primarily serves the public sector. Please fill out the online registration form to apply for a pass. Once your registration is complete, you will receive an email informing you that a confirmation email will be sent to the email address provided within the next 48 hours if your application has been successful. Alternatively, a member of the team will be in touch.
Can I bring my child with me to the Schools & Academies Show?+
We do not allow any children in the exhibition halls under the age of 16.
Will there be WiFi available inside the exhibition halls?+
All visitors to the NEC can connect to WiFi across the entire venue completely free of charge. If you’re unsure how to connect, or experience difficulties, just head to the Visitor & Business Centres and they will get you online. Free WiFi is available inside the exhibition hall. When you arrive at the venue, simply sign in using the standard log in, or via LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter.
How do I navigate my way around the exhibition?+
We have a floorplan available in the Schools & Academies Show official show guide to help you navigate your way around the exhibition. You can pick up a show guide at the registration desks as you enter the exhibition. There will also be ‘You are Here’ boards distributed around the halls, or a member of staff will be happy to help you.
We’ve partnered up with specialist accommodation agency Event Express to provide discounted hotel accommodation and flexible cancellation policies exclusively for Schools and Academies Show Birmingham attendees and exhibitors. If you’re unsure of your requirements at this stage, the flexible cancellation terms will allow you to make amendments and cancellations at no charge until closer to the event date. However, we do advise that you book now and amend later in order to guarantee your preferred hotel.
The Event Express service is completely free to use with no hidden charges and no booking or transaction fees, and the friendly reservations team will liaise with the hotels directly on your behalf.
